Lesley Roy will represent Ireland in Eurovision 2020 with "Story of My Life"


With 7 wins under their belt and the title of most Eurovision wins in history, Irish public broadcaster RTÉ is proud to announce that Lesley Roy will represent Ireland at Eurovision 2020 with her song 'Story Of My Life'. Lesley will perform during the first Semi-Final on 12 May in Rotterdam with the hope of qualifying for the Grand Final on 16 May.


Who is Lesley Roy ?


She was born in 17 September 1986. Lesley Roy is a singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. . She released her debut album,Unbeautiful in 2008, which was executive produced by Max Martin. Until switching her focus to songwriting, and attracting the attention of Marc Jordan, the manager credited for launching the career of Rihanna and owner of Rebel One Management & Publishing. As a songwriter Roy has experienced international success with releases for artists including Adam Lambert,Miss Montreal,Medina,Jana Kramer, and Marlee Scott.


Ireland in Eurovision Song Contest


Ireland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 53 times since making its debut at the 1965 Contest in Naples, missing only two contests since then (1983 and 2002). The contest final is broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ One. Ireland is the most successful country in the contest, with a record total of seven wins, and is the only country to have won three times consecutively.
